WoW Forever Druid PvP Guide: Feral & Moonkin
Published

Verdict
Feral Shifting Power 0/31/20 is the source archive's mobile melee/control candidate; Balance/Restoration 31/0/20 is its ranged hybrid candidate. Forever expands form utility and repositions key talents, but neither allocation is recommended until the conflicting Swiftmend state and hotfixed prerequisite graph are reproduced in client. Live coefficients, prerequisite arrows and the full DR table remain unconfirmed.
| Context | Tier | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Battlegrounds | S+ | Premier flag carrier through shapeshift snare removal, Dash, and Feral Swiftness +30%; Moonkin adds artillery. |
| World PvP | S | Prowl plus Ravage or reliable escape through forms and Travel Form. |
| Duels | S | Skilled Feral beats Warrior/Rogue/Hunter; Warlock Fear and Shadow Priest remain difficult (4). |
| Duo | S | Feral plus Priest/Paladin, or Restoration as pocket healer. |
| Trio | A | Versatile but limited repeatable control: Roots, Hibernate on Druid/Hunter pet, Bash. |
| Hyjal 5v5 arena | A | Innervate, Swiftmend, Roots on Warrior/Rogue (4). |
| Rated Battle for Gilneas | S | Fast node movement and Bear-form defense (4). |

Travel Form and repeated shapeshifting answer roots and preserve spacing; Feral Charge, Bash, Pounce, Ravage, Rip and Faerie Fire define Feral setup; Entangling Roots, Nature's Grasp, Cyclone-like Forever evidence where present, Moonfire, Starfire and Wrath define the ranged plan. Innervate, Rejuvenation, Regrowth and Healing Touch remain central resources (1)–(3). Exact coefficients and form-specific changes retain the evidence labels from the source.
The October 30 community cache places Shifting Power in Feral row 7 with Predatory Discipline as its prerequisite and changes Swiftmend to consume the active Rejuvenation or Regrowth. The earlier Blizzard deep dive described a non-consuming Swiftmend. Until the cache is independently reproduced, the newer behavior is labeled Beta / Datamine, not confirmed.

The source model preserves its exact attack-power, spell-power, armor and critical assumptions. Reference values come from numbers.json; outputs between those points are interpolation and remain hypotheses rather than live measurements (4).
At 1,600 AP before armor, the six-second Cat opener is Ravage 1,421 + two Shreds 1,264 + four-point Ferocious Bite 1,391 + white attacks 1,496 = 5,572. Reference totals are 4,953 at 1,200 AP and 6,190 at 2,000 AP. After 3,500 armor the estimate is approximately 3,404. Rend and Tear's +10% against a bleeding target is included on Shred and Ferocious Bite (4).
At 600 SP, Moonkin models 452 sustained DPS and 3,575 damage over six seconds from a ×2 Starfire critical through Vengeance plus Moonfire and Insect Swarm. Source comparisons are Shadow Priest 2,745, Elemental Shaman 3,181, and SM/Ruin Warlock 2,956 (4).

Elite rotations
Feral opens from stealth only when the control state supports it, builds combo points without wasting energy, uses Rip for pressure or Ferocious Bite for a secured finish, and shifts immediately when movement or survival is worth more than damage. Feral Charge and Bash are reserved for casts or escape denial. Moonkin applies instant pressure while moving, creates a protected Starfire/Wrath window with roots and positioning, and shifts out to heal before the mana race is lost (2)/(4).
Diminishing returns — what is known
Classic 100% → 50% → 25% → immunity with a 15-second reset is only the planning baseline (2)/(4). Entrapment gaining DR is the only documented change (3); other categories and the absence of a TBC-style cap remain assumptions (4).
Matchups
| Class | Forecast (4) | Plan | Danger |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Favorable | Roots, kite, heal; Rejuvenation/Wild Growth into Mortal Strike | Mortal Strike, Intercept, Hamstring |
| Rogue | Favorable | Faerie Fire against Vanish, Barkskin, Roots | Kidney plus Blind |
| Mage | 50/50 | Bash, Feral Charge, stay in form for Polymorph immunity | Nature Counterspell, Frost Nova |
| Warlock | Unfavorable | Fear works in form; trinket and Remove Curse on Tongues/Exhaustion | Fear, Howl, Death Coil |
| Priest | Unfavorable vs Shadow | Bash, Barkskin | Scream, Mana Burn, Dispel |
| Hunter | 50/50 | Line of sight, Roots | Scatter/Trap, Viper |
| Paladin | 50/50 | Kite | Hammer of Justice, Freedom |
| Shaman | 50/50 | Kite; reapply HoTs after each Purge | Purge, Earth Shock |
| Druid | Mirror | Faerie Fire; Hibernate shifted forms | Ravage |
Synergies and compositions
Leader of the Pack and Moonkin Aura are group critical-strike buffs and mutually exclusive (1). Innervate on a healer or Mage is a 5v5 win condition. Reference duos are Feral + Priest (S), Restoration + Warrior (S), and Restoration + Rogue (S).
Racials
| Race | Tier (4) | Key point |
|---|---|---|
| Night Elf | S | Shadowmeld usable in form (1), Elune's Light +10% crit, Quickness |

| High Order / Windshaper Skyborne | A | Walk on Air usable in form (1); +2% haste |
Gear
Feral prioritizes Stamina, required melee hit, weapon/stat contribution under the verified form rules, Agility/Strength and critical strike; Moonkin prioritizes Stamina, spell hit, spell power, Intellect and critical strike. Preserve the source's named pre-BiS references and verify every item against live Forever behavior (2)/(4). PvP progression remains 24,750 cumulative Rank Points, the 25,000 weekly Honor cap, Insignia at R2, sets at R10/R13 and weapons at R14 (1). Engineering and consumables remain Classic references pending item-by-item confirmation (2)/(4).
Forever PvP progression
The complete R2–R14 reward sequence and six listed PvP modes retain the source values. Field of Honor gates imply R14 around week 10 at earliest (3); the beta critical penalty was fixed October 8 (3).

|---|---|---|
| Combat Potions (R5) | PvP potions unlocked at rank 5 | (1) |
| Free Action / Living Action | Root/stun protection for 30 sec / 5 sec | (2)/(4) |

| Juju / Elixirs | One-hour stat buffs | (2)/(4) |
| Engineering | Grenades, Net-o-Matic, boots, Sapper, Dragonling, Mind Control Cap, Reflectors | (2), individual availability (4) |
Druids can use Rage potions and Thistle Tea (1), mana/healing potions in form, while Engineering bombs in form are limited to SAF-T/EZ-Thro recipes (1).
Macros
The source macros preserve mouseover Rejuvenation with form cancel, self Swiftmend with form cancel, Cat Form/Ravage/Shred state handling, and focus Entangling Roots. Syntax remains unverified in Forever (4).
Addons
LoseControl/BigDebuffs, OmniCC, arena frames if exposed, battleground targets, WeakAuras, and DruidBar/energy tick tracking remain unconfirmed ports (4).
Forever changes
Retained changes include the supplied form, talent and hybrid-tool revisions (1)/(3). Energy behavior after shifts, form-specific weapon contribution, exact spell coefficients, prerequisite arrows, the DR table and named-item availability remain unverified. Charts remain deterministic source-model outputs, not live balance claims (4).
Unverified
Berserk removal and Lacerate/Bloom talents from the October 30 hotfix, weapon-based form autos and procs, prerequisite arrows, and both Cat/Moonkin models remain unverified (3)/(4).
