Five days before launch, Blizzard quietly brought out the chainsaw. No patch notes. Almost all of this was datamined, so it may still change.

Paladin and Druid are rebuilt, the Mage is reworked, and the Hunter takes a hit. Class by class. Mage: Ice Lance goes from no cooldown to 8 seconds.

The spam is over, but on a frozen target it now deals +300% instead of 200. And Ice Barrier gives 15% Frost damage instead of 3.

Fire: Critical Mass drops from 5 ranks to 3, and Arcane Focus is removed. Less kiting, a bit less Fire crit, but Frost becomes a one-shot on shatter.

The Warlock is almost untouched. Touch of the Grave gets a 15-second internal cooldown. That one's official. Priest: Shadow Word: Death now hits you back for 30% of your max health instead of 10.

Binding Heal becomes a baseline spell at level 25, and the new Holy Binding heals you when you Flash Heal someone else.

Now, the real nerf of the week. Hunter: Trueshot Aura drops from 30 to 15 attack power. Aspect of the Hawk loses roughly 30 to 50% of its attack power.

The pets? Untouched. A nerf... not a fix. Paladin: a total rework. Holy Power now boosts Holy critical heals by 10 to 50%.

New talent: Oath of Light. An oath on one ally for 5 minutes, boosting your heals on them. One at a time.

Protection becomes a real tank. Righteous Fury now comes at level 10 instead of 16. Redoubt gives up to 30% block, and the new Stoicism cuts stuns and charms by 20%.

Retribution gets Unsealed Wrath: your hits store your Seal up to 3 times, and switching Seals unleashes them. And Turn Evil makes Turn Undead work on demons.

Warlocks, you've been warned. Druid: Wild Growth goes from instant to a 3-second cast, and Swiftmend only works on your own Rejuvenation or Regrowth.

The new talent Bloom heals when your Rejuvenation or Regrowth expires. Still, Resto loses healing on the move. Feral gets Predatory Discipline, a smarter Ferocious Bite... and Berserk is removed.

Warrior: Revenge now scales with attack power. A tank buff. Rogue and Shaman: nothing detected. Enhancement stays untouched after a dominant beta.

Racials. Officially, Orc Blood Fury drops from 3 minutes to 2, and Troll Berserking is 15 seconds. Datamined: The Human Spirit goes to 10%.

Dwarves get +1% hit, and Skyborne Wind Blessed drops to 2%. Items: Boots - Minor Speed is now 4%, and the Goblin Glider cooldown goes from 3 to 5 minutes.

So, Hunter and Resto Druid calm down. Frost Mage becomes a shatter cannon, and Paladin becomes a rock. Nothing is official before the November 4th launch, so subscribe, and we'll do the full recap at launch.
